Roxanna Ciprian joined Springfield Public Schools in 2010 at Portland Elementary. She spent ten years there before moving to Shady Dell Early Childhood Center after Portland closed. Roxanna has worked in preschool, kindergarten and first grade. During her time with SPS, she decided to pursue her master’s degree. “One of my favorite memories during my time at SPS was going back to school to get my master’s in literacy and using the knowledge that I learned with my students.” said Roxanna.
What is something you will miss about SPS?
“What I will miss the most about SPS are the coworkers who became the best of friends and are like family to me. I will also miss the light in the eyes of children when they learn something for the first time. I will especially miss teaching them to read, which has been my passion throughout my career.”
Do you have any advice you would like to share to those not retiring?
“I want to encourage every teacher that when you feel like throwing in the towel to remember that you may never know the extent to which you are making a difference in the life of a child, but what you do is so important. Don’t give up!”
