Empowering Educators
The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools empowers educators by providing meaningful opportunities to bring their ideas, projects, and passions to life.
Explore below to discover the many ways we’re making an impact on educators across SPS.
Back to School Grants
The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools helps educators kick off the school year with the resources they need through Back to School Grants. These grants provide funding for classroom materials, creative learning opportunities, and projects that help educators create meaningful experiences for their students.
By investing in educators at the beginning of the school year, the Foundation helps ensure that teachers have the tools and resources they need to make a difference from day one.
Impact Grants
Impact Grants give Springfield Public Schools educators the opportunity to turn innovative ideas into meaningful learning experiences. These grants support projects and initiatives that can make a lasting impact on students, classrooms, and the broader school community.
Through Impact Grants, the Foundation empowers educators to think creatively, try new approaches, and bring ideas to life that might otherwise not be possible.
District-Wide Grants
District-Wide Grants support projects that benefit students and educators across Springfield Public Schools. These grants allow the Foundation to invest in larger initiatives that can reach multiple schools, classrooms, and communities throughout the district.
By supporting district-wide opportunities, the Foundation helps create experiences and resources that can have an impact across SPS.
Educator Recognition Awards
Great educators deserve to be celebrated. Through Educator Recognition Awards, the Foundation provides an opportunity for students, families, colleagues, and community members to recognize an SPS educator who has made a meaningful difference.
Nominations are a way to say thank you and shine a light on the dedication, creativity, and heart our educators bring to their work every day.
Pick a Project
Pick a Project gives Springfield Public Schools educators a way to bring their classroom ideas to the community through crowdfunding. Educators can share a project or idea and invite others to help provide the funding needed to make it happen.
Whether it’s a new classroom resource, a unique learning experience, or an innovative project, Pick-a-Project connects educators with community members who want to help make a difference.
Celebrate SPS
Celebrate SPS is the Foundation’s annual opportunity to come together and recognize the educators and staff who make Springfield Public Schools special. This end-of-year event brings our community together to celebrate the accomplishments, dedication, and impact of SPS employees.
It’s a chance to say thank you to the people who inspire students, support schools, and make a difference throughout the district.
JJ Memorial Scholarship
The JJ Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of Jaskamal Johal, a 2010 graduate of Glendale High School who is remembered for the positive influence she had on those around her.
JJ was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 11 and passed away at just 20 years old. Her life and legacy continue to inspire others through this scholarship.
The JJ Memorial Scholarship supports Springfield Public Schools teachers and paraprofessionals who are furthering their education in the field of Special Education, helping them expand their knowledge and skills to better serve students.
