The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools (FSPS) is excited to announce the award of $235,440 in Back to School Grants, benefiting classrooms throughout the Springfield Public Schools (SPS) district. Educators submitted grant proposals to receive vital resources that enhance learning experiences for their students.
This year, 80 grants were awarded to 40 SPS schools, with over 60 FSPS volunteers delivering the good news on Grant Delivery Day. “Our Back to School Grant Program is designed to make educators’ dreams a reality by providing the resources they need to inspire innovation in the classroom,” said Natalie Murdock, FSPS Executive Director. “These projects not only fill important gaps but also align with the district’s priorities. We couldn’t make this happen without the incredible generosity of our donors, and I’m deeply grateful for their continued support.”
“As a proud graduate of Springfield Public Schools, it’s an honor to give back to the district that shaped my own educational journey,” said Crystal Sharp, FSPS Board President. “Seeing firsthand how these grants impact classrooms is incredibly rewarding. By supporting educators and students, we’re helping to create the same opportunities for success that I experienced, and I’m thrilled to be part of that effort as a board member.”
The Back to School Grant Program is made possible through the generosity of local businesses, community members, and individual donors.
“At FSPS, our vision is to promote educational excellence for every child by collaborating with both the public-school system and our community,” Murdock added.
“The Back to School Grant Program exemplifies this partnership in action.”
